This screened porch in Plymouth is a great example of starting over. The home had an existing porch that was old and out dated as far as materials and style. The homeowner was not impressed by the craftmanship or the design, so they called us for some help. After Meeting with us, they found the materials and design suited their needs. We constructed this porch almost as a full addition. We insulated the floors, walls and ceiling to help with heat containment. The roof material and gutters matched the existing house perfectly. With the homeowners guidence we were able to achieve that classic "porch" feel and look. The floor has tongue and groove material that was painted grey, the walls and ceiling were finished with a bead board and painted white. The knee wall also has bead board as well as some decorative picture frame panels between each post and screen section. After a new sliding door and fiberglass doors, as well as many new electrical outlets, the interior was complete. The exterior is finished off with compressed fiber board that accepts paint very well. The picture framing below the screens mimics that of the interior. Adding the composite deck and railing to the side of this porch gives a great area for sunbathing outside when the weather coperates. Thanks to the homeowner for their great ideas and helping us create the perfect space for them.
